Norfolk Food Festival promotes local food and drink
24th October 2011
Last Thursday (20th October), Broadland MP Keith Simpson joined Baroness Shephard and other Norfolk MPs to welcome local food producers to Parliament to celebrate the Norfolk Food Festival.
The event, which was organised with Anglia Farmers, celebrates the best of Norfolk food and farming, with MPs invited to sample delicious food and drink and find out about the produce on offer in the county.
Keith Simpson said:
“I am delighted to promote the very best of Norfolk food and drink. The event has been a huge success and MPs and members of the House of Lords have been given a real taste of what Norfolk has to offer.”
Tourism Minister John Penrose said:
“This is helping to slay the lie that British food is rubbish. We have got some of the greatest variety of food on display here today. What everyone is doing is wonderful.”
